IB ACIO (Intelligence Bureau Assistant Central Intelligence Officer) is a graduate-level examination conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). IB ACIO is a reputed high salaried post, in addition to other allowances that the Government of India provides. Earlier, IB was under the control of the internal and external intelligence of the country. But later, IB ACIO was split into two different organisations – Intelligence Bureau & Research & Analysis Wing (R&AW). This examination is conducted at the All India Level, once a year.

IB ACIO Eligibility Criteria
The candidates are advised to go through the eligibility criteria once before proceeding with the application form. The Ministry of Home Affairs sets the eligibility criteria, and candidates must fulfil the requirements for this examination.
There are specific criteria according to which candidate can apply for the IB ACIO Exam, which is given below:
Age criteria – The candidates applying for the IB ACIO exam must have attained 18 years of age and not be more than 27 years. Age relaxation facilities are available for SC/ST & OBC candidates-
- Five years relaxation in the upper age limit is for the candidates belonging to SC/ST category.
- Three years of relaxation in the upper age limit is for the candidates belonging to the OBC category.
- In the case of widows, divorced women and women judicially separated from their husbands and not remarried, the age limit is relaxable up to the age of 35 years for the general category and 40 years for SC/ST.
- The upper age limit is also relaxable for ex-servicemen and candidates who were domiciled in Jammu and Kashmir from 1st January 1980 to 31st December 1989 and for children or dependent of 2002 Gujarat Riots.
Essential Qualification: Candidates applying for this examination must possess a graduation or equivalent degree from a University recognized by the Government of India/State.

IB ACIO Officer Salary
The main attraction for any candidate in the government service is the salary structure, so the IB ACIO is also an attractive one. Candidates selected through this recruitment process will receive a salary based on the 7th pay commission scale- 44,900 INR to 1,42,400 INR. Apart from the fixed pay, the candidate will also get allowances as given below:
